Staying True to Our Core Commitments…
OMHS developed the Ethics Program to ensure that we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in all that we do. The OMHS Ethical Foundation Statement , adopted by our Board of Directors, outlines the guiding principles of the Ethics Program.
The program is administered by the Organizational Ethics Committee and two sub-committees: Clinical Ethics and Business Ethics. Members represent various facets of OMHS and the community, and include people knowledgeable in healthcare ethics, clinical policies and healthcare policy. Together they work to:
-
Review and guide the development of internal policies from an ethical perspective
-
Educate OMHS physicians, staff and other stakeholders in current ethical issues
-
Provide case-review forums when ethical values may be in conflict
