Important News for Kentucky Medicaid Patients

On November 1, 2011, Kentucky began transitioning to a new system of managed care for Medicaid patients. Your healthcare plan is now being coordinated by a Managed Care Organization, or MCO.   

OMHS is accepting the following two MCO plans: 

• WellCare of Kentucky
• CoventryCares of Kentucky  

These plans are accepted by the hospital and at all OMHS facilities and services, including clinics and physician practices operated by OMHS Cooperative Health Services.   

You can change your current plan by contacting the Kentucky Medicaid Member Services Hotline at 1-855-446-1245. The hotline is open weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The deadline to change your plan is January 29, 2012. After the deadline, you will not be able to change your plan until 2013.   

OMHS provides emergency services to all patients regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay, in accordance with federal law. (EMTALA)
