Epic Electronic Medical Record
Epic is an electronic medical record system (EMR) that will help transform healthcare delivery in our region. Designed for both inpatient and outpatient use, Epic provides healthcare providers with a secure, central location to exchange healthcare information electronically. The system will be implemented in phases, with select clinics going live as early as June 2011. The hospital is projected to be live by the end of 2011.
OMHS has dedicated 70 employees toward the project, replacing core clinical systems and processes with Epic’s model system implementation methodology—based on best practices of more than 190 Epic customers.
