The OMHS Wound Healing Center has been recognized with the Center of Distinction Award, based on high patient satisfaction rates, exceptional healing results, and outstanding clinical outcomes over a 12 month-period. The prestigious honor was awarded by the center's partner in wound healing, Diversified Clinical Services (DCS), the nation's leading wound care management company.

Healing Rate

The Wound Healing Center has achieved a 97 percent healing rate in treating hard-to-heal chronic wounds and in providing excellent care to patients since opening in June 2001.

The Need For Wound Care

The center specializes in treating patients who suffer from chronic and non-healing wounds--a serious condition that can lead to amputation of limbs and dramatically impair quality of life. Associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins and immobility, non-healing wounds occur most frequently in the elderly and in people with diabetes and other diseases--populations that are sharply rising as the nation's population ages and chronic diseases increase.
