New Year's help for the resolution maker

Collette Carter

HealthPark Director

Let me guess: you’ve tried the New Year’s resolution thing before. You vowed to make healthy changes, started fast out of the gate, and then found your resolve waning a few months into your plan. Guess what? You’re not alone. It’s a familiar story that I’ve seen many, many times.

Several factors can chip away at your motivation, no matter how fired up you are at the beginning. Sometimes, you need partners to keep you accountable. Sometimes you need expert help on diet and exercise. And sometimes, you just need a plan.

That’s where the HealthPark really comes in

We are here to help you succeed and to give you the boost you need to blast through the barriers and stay with it—for real this time. We know what the stumbling blocks are, and if you have the desire, we can help you kick them to the curb.

First, our staff works to make exercise both enjoyable and challenging for everyone. Whether you’re a couch potato or a seasoned athlete, we offer programming to meet you where you are and take you where you want to go. Once you realize you can really do this, you’ll gain confidence and self-esteem, and that’s when you’ll really start to soar.

Just look at some of the fun offerings for 2011: Kinesis (check out our new studio); Pilates Reformer, and the new Kettlebells class. LIFE is back and will be changing lives in the new year. There's massage therpay to help you relax and to soothe those aching muscles. Or, perhaps it’s time to explore something you never tried before--maybe aquatics, personal training or a therapeutic membership.

Second, our team works to build an environment to help you stay on track

Group and personal training can help keep you motivated. Nutrition and exercise experts deliver the practical knowledge you need to achieve your goals. We can even help fine-tune your fitness plan for maximum results.

The truth is that over 30% of the area’s adult population gets no regular physical activity at all—a statistic we’re committed to changing through initiatives like Get Movin’ 2011. We are working to build a healthier community, and that means introducing more and more people to the amazing health benefits of regular physical activity.

I’d like you to look at 2011 as your year. This is the year for you to make changes, to get healthier, and experience what a life of health and wellness is all about.

If you’re ready to turn the page, we can help you rewrite the story.
