OMHS Respiratory Care is staffed and equipped to handle any breathing problems from discomfort to life threatening conditions.

The OMHS Respiratory Care Unit is staffed by physicians board certified in pulmonary medicine.  Our 30-person staff is made up of certified and licensed respiratory therapists using state-of-the-art respiratory equipment and procedures.

Member of the Critical Care Team

The Respiratory Care staff is fully integrated into the OMHS cardio team and responds to all Code Blue alerts throughout the hospital.  The Respiratory Care staff is on 24-hour stand by and is ready in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Cardio Care Unit (CCU).

Provides Services throughout OMHS

In addition to being on station at all the critical care areas, the OMHS Respiratory Care department provides respiratory treatments and therapy to all inpatient departments of the hospital.  Additionally, respiratory therapy and treatments are  also available to our patients as outpatient care. 

Respiratory Diagnostics

The Respiratory Unit also provides respiratory diagnostics to include:

• Arterial Blood Gas Testing

• Cardio-Pulmonary Stress Testing

• Pulmonary Function Tests
